My blog sucks

My blog sucks. Boo. There are 10 million mommy blogs out there, many of them crafted by professional writers. They are creative, witty and charming. What business do I have writing a blog anyway?

This is the part where you interrupt me and assure me, no, no- your blog is excellent. You have never noticed any grammatical errors. You think I am so hilarious. But you can't because I am writing and you are not in the room with me. So that means I can go on.

There are so many excellent bloggers, the Internet is saturated with them. Really how much is there to say? Mommy is tired, mommy wants a glass of wine, kid's say the darnedest things, mommy hates laundry, yada, yada , yada. The common threads across mama cyber space. Some of you writing moms are just a little bit more creative in how you spin it. I suppose what they say is true, there is always going to be someone smarter, prettier, more clever, more succesful, and better at blogging than you.

But am I going to give up? Nope. I am going to put my head down and try and get my blog on. You're going to love me.

  1. Hi

Nice to see you are still blogging.

It can take a long time for anything to happen online. The important thing is whether or not you are enjoying the journey.

I love writing on most of my sites. I write mainly because I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts. I'm also trying to make some points and also make some money. I often wondered if anyone would ever read what I was writing. Slowly, I gained more people who would show up and read my site(s) and contribute comments.

One of my sites got lucky with a nice keyword ranking from Google. Now I have a pretty steady flow of people into the site. I can see from my stats program that people are going through my archives and reading my old posts that I figured nobody would ever read. You just never know.

Plus, this blogging project is giving you experience in the online world. In addition to witing this blog, you might decide to start another blog about something more specific with less competition. It could be a blog about a specific line of kids toys, beauty products, California resorts, cameras, wine, etc.... These topics would have more potential in terms of audience, keyword traffic, ad clicks, etc...

If you ever need any help or suggestions, feel free to email oe Facebook me. Otherwise, post your questions on http://www.ebranchoffice.com and I or someone else will answer your questions.

    Good luck and keep writing!

  2. I like your blog! But since you mentioned grammatical errors ...you mistyped "Your" in your last line "Your going to love me." You meant "You're going to love me."

  3. I have two blogs (found you via your "shameless plug" on Highland mommies by the way - I'm assuming you need to udpate your "about" and you live in Denver?).
Make sure you answer your commenters (to develop fans) and find something to write about that's "you" - through kids or whatever. I have a craft blog and mid century blog - but they took a long time to develop.
    Just give it time! Grin!
Oh, and it's not the end of the world to make a typo or grammatical error either! wink!
